Welcome to Woldia University, Institute of Technology

It is a great pleasure to bring you up to date on the activities of Institute of Technology in Woldia University. As the Executive Director of the Institute, I have the privilege of leading this Institute, a place where Engineering, Technology and Science combine to teach, to do research and to give public service for better lives. As you know, the Government of Ethiopia invests on higher education institutions to bring quality education, to solve community problems and invent new things through research and to serve the community that we had been expecting for several years.

Thus, in line with the mission of Woldia University, the Institute of Technology has been producing skilled and competent man power through the provision of quality education, conducting result-oriented research and offering problem solving community service in technology and engineering aspects.  In addition, I am compelled to acknowledge the excellent work of our staff that conducts teaching-learning process effectively. I would also like to thank all the researchers who take time out of their very busy schedules to play an active role on searching new findings and serving the community very well. Their collaboration is essential and very much appreciated!

The Institute has also strong cooperation to local industry and institutions to ensure relevancy in education, research and community service. The Institute aspires to be one of the top five Ethiopia Institute of Technology by 2020 E.C.

I’m proud of the students, academic and administrative staffs who make up Woldia University, Institute of Technology. And I’m pleased to be part of the staff that makes as tradition to improve the quality of education, research and community service continuously since WLDU established as one of a public university.
