Mission and vision of Anti- HIV/AIDS office

A. Vision

Vision

The vision of HIV/AIDS preventing and controlling Office of Woldia University is to see Woldia University members free of HIV& AIDS and thereby contribute to the national vision of seeing HIV& AIDS free Ethiopia

B. Goal

The goal of HIV/AIDS preventing and controlling Office against HIV AIDS in the university is to prevent and control HIV & AIDS and mitigate its impacts among the university communities.

C. Mission

The mission of HIV/AIDS preventing and controlling Office in Woldia University is to give care and support, provide standardized, effective and sustainable HIV & AIDS information and services through education, partnership and evidence based interventions.

Anti-HIV/AIDS office responsibility

The office of Anti-HIV/AIDS has the responsibility to implement the five major thematic areas which were targeted and priorities by federal HAPCO with strategic plan. Generally, the five major thematic areas are as follow.

Strategic Objective

The strategic objective of the HIV/AIDS preventing and controlling Office is to create conducive environment for reducing rate of new infection, mitigating impact of the epidemic and generation and utilization of strategic information.

Five major thematic areas are identified for action by the HEI-PSFAHA and its member institutions during the period 2013 to 2015 to realize the vision of the forum. These thematic areas are in line with priorities of the second strategic plan for multispectral HIV/AIDS response in general and expectations from the education sector in particular. Table 2 summarizes the five thematic areas and related objectives and major components.
